Event Details
The Harrisburg Health Information Exchange cordially invites you to attend one of two special events on Wednesday, March 17 or Saturday, March 27, at Harrisburg Area Community College, in Harrisburg, PA. The Wednesday, 3/17/10, event will take place from 3:00 pm – 5:00 pm with a reception to follow. The event on Saturday, 3/27/10 will begin at 8:30 with a continental breakfast and conclude by 11:00am.
Each event will provide important current information to healthcare providers about converting to electronic medical records (EMR) management systems, including basic EMR conversion operations, as well as a review of strategies for better interoperability between hospitals and other providers following the initial EMR conversion, in other words, EMR best practices!
The Harrisburg Health Information Exchange will introduce the new TechQuest HUB, an online statewide research resource for easy access to best IT practices for EMR and related technology services, systems, and expert tech providers in thirty (30) technology categories for free use by physician practices, hospitals, and healthcare providers across Pennsylvania. TechQuest HUB is operated by the non-profit TechQuest Pennsylvania.
These Harrisburg Health Information Exchange meetings are conveniently located and scheduled to accommodate the appropriate representative from your practice. We request that you attend one of these sessions yourself, or forward this invitation to the appropriate management person within your practice.
EMR Meeting sponsorships are $300 for TechQuest Members and $500 for non-members. Contact Leigh Twiford to secure the same at ltwiford@tccp.org, 717.635.2172. Space is limited. Sponsors shall get a booth, table and 2 attendance tickets for both events.
The Harrisburg Health Information Exchange (“HHIE”) was established in 2007 by the HHIE Advisory Board and TechQuest Pennsylvania to bring together healthcare and community leaders to improve healthcare quality, costs, access and patient safety through the deployment of health information technologies within and between health care organizations in the greater Harrisburg region. Through our collective efforts we want to speed the Harrisburg deployment of electronic medical records, electronic prescription solutions and health information exchange technologies in order to improve healthcare quality at the most critical time: the point-of-care. Our efforts will focus on sustainable business models combined with a complementary array of bundled-service-offerings that increase security, performance, return-on-investment (ROI), sustainability and participation. Because we are located in the state capitol region, we will also develop and showcase best practices in order to advance public policy awareness, legislative support and funding to help our region as well as other regions in the Commonwealth.
